With your support, we share Wilton and its collections through tours, lectures, and exhibitions. For our 2022-2023 fundraising campaign, we are committed to a goal of $160,000. Your gift to Wilton House Museum supports our mission to be a gathering place for discussing life in Virginia, displaying decorative arts, honoring historic preservation, and understanding how the past continues to shape life in America today. Together, we will advance our vision to serve as Richmond’s premiere historic house museum.

For almost 60 years volunteers have been leading guests through the rooms of Wilton and making them feel welcome during Wilton’s many events. Volunteers are always needed to give guided tours of Wilton House Museum. Volunteers are needed as well to serve as greeters in our Visitor’s Center and welcome guests to Wilton!
Working at Wilton House Museum means being immersed in history and architectural significance every day.
Wilton House Museum has held the distinct pleasure of working with both undergraduate and graduate students in exposing them to teaching, interpreting, and caring for our history in new and meaningful ways. Interns at Wilton House Museum work side-by-side with professional staff to understand and execute museum-related tasks and offer professional-level experience in a museum setting. Each internship is geared toward the student and his or her own interests. Internships are available in Education & Interpretation, Exhibition Curating, and Collections Management.
If you are a student currently enrolled at a college or university and would like to earn academic credit for an internship at Wilton, please fill out the interest form linked below.

Become a Tour Guide
Leading guided tours at Wilton is one of the greatest gifts we receive from our volunteer guides. For as few as 4 hours a month, being a guide at Wilton is rewarding to both visitor and guide. Guides receive all of the above mentioned benefits, plus regular training and interpretation updates. Previous knowledge of Wilton and its history is not required, only your desire to learn and lead. If you would like to know more about becoming a guide, or have any questions about leading tours, please contact us.
