Join us for our annual lecture series. This virtual presentation will feature Janine Skerry, Senior Curator of Metals, The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.
Although fundamental to daily life, the consumption of food is nonetheless in a near-constant state of flux, especially when taken in company with others. Every aspect of dining—from what and where we eat, to how food is served, and even how it is conveyed to our mouths—has changed dramatically over time. Colonial Williamsburg’s senior curator of metals Janine Skerry will explore shifting tabletops and re-furbished rooms as service à la Française gave way to service à la Russe during the post-Revolutionary evolution of dining in America and Britain.
This presentation will take place on Zoom.
